Merry Chrimbo!

Hello again readers!

Ah, another Christmas came, and went. So much joy, new memories, a lot of excitement (and a lot of people squished into tiny areas!) has happened this year too!

Every year, my dad makes cookies! And a /lot/ of them; chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, brownie, gooey butter, amish sugar cookies, and sugar cookies. He bakes for days, and they're always yummy! And mum makes spritz cookies and wreaths!

My favourites are brownie, gooey butter, and spritz. I love them!

For Christmas Eve, I like being casual. This year, I bought a new jumper! It has a fox on it, and I couldn't resist since foxes are my favourite animal. I put it over my Converse plaid shirt and wore skinny jeans.

I use so many products to make my look too!

-Monistat for primer
-Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation - Ivory
-NYX HD Concealer in 01
-Maybelline Falsies Waterproof Mascara
-NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
-Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner
-ELF High Definition Translucent Powder
-NYX Butter Gloss in Maple Blondie
-Milani Lipstick in Nude Creme
-NYC Bronzer in Sunny
-ELF Beauty Book - Night Edition
-Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Single in Brule
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Nude
-Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner in Nude
-ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium
-Aziza Blush duo

My grandparents, and some of my other family came over for Christmas Eve. We had good food, and had a lot of fun! We exchanged presents, and they left shortly afterwards.

Then, Sarah and I got to open the gifts from my parents!

I got the cutest shooter glass set, with monochromatic skulls! Also, two pairs of skull earrings, and a new grey scarf! Mum and Dad know me so well...

I also got a bunch of boots! The top pair mum  picked up when she was out one day, and the last three I got to pick out from Charlotte Russe. I already broke in one pair, time to break in the rest!

They also got me a few movies, and a few season DVD's (SPN, Teen Wolf, and Firefly!), a tripod, and a new XBox! :D I love it already...

Then Sarah and I exchanged presents:

I GOT PACIFIC RIM! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!
I was really happy with what she got me, Pacific Rim is one of my favourite movies of all time, and the Internship is such a cute movie (plus, it has Dylan O'Brien in it, double score!). She also got me this really sweet perfume from Rue21. I was eyeing it myself, but wasn't sure I was going to buy it, but she picked it up for me! How sweet is she?

Then it was Christmas day. It's always the most exhausting day of the holidays, because we have to travel quite a bit to see everyone, and then socializing... It's a lot, but it's nice.

Sarah and I are always opposites. I'm usually in black, and she's the princess of light! It's really hilarious how different we are, but similar in some ways too...

My look was dark, but simple!

-Monistat Primer
-Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation

Hard Candy Nail Polish - Jubilee

Hello again readers!

Quick show of Jubilee by Hard Candy

Jubilee looks like you dipped your fingers in a swamp! It's slimy green, with 'dirt'. You get black glitter, with big black and silver hex glitter, and orange bar glitter. It's disgusting, but in the best of ways.

You need four coats for full opacity, one if you layer over another polish.

The only issue I had with this polish, is that some of the bar glitter would rise off the nail. I just picked those out (though I missed a couple!) and I was able to wear this for a few days before any chipping occurred.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Audacious Asphault

Hello again readers!

I started my Maybelline Color Tattoo collection again... I just love the formula for these so much, I can't help but want them all!

Audacious Asphault is a gunmetal grey colour. I picked this up, because I wanted a dark grey to wear with black liner, and I thought this would be the perfect choice. This is a lot like the Electric Blue that they released with the Metals collection, because you need to apply two layers to get the colour to appear right, otherwise it's streaky!

This isn't the best that I've gotten out of the Color Tattoos, and I'm only a little sad about that, because I still enjoy the color.

Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color - Red My Mind, Cherry On Top, and Back to the Fuchsia

Hello again readers!

I have a couple of photos for the Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Colors for you today.

I am a liquid lipstick fan, truly I am. They apply so easily, and they last for a long while! These are no exception. I picked up Red My Mind, Cherry On Top, and Back tot he Fuchsia.

Red My Mind - A classic, pin-up red. A staple, really. Opaque in just one swipe, with a matte finish.

Cherry On Top - A wine-red with shimmer. It tries to be a matte, metallic finish, but really it just makes applying it harder. It needs to dry, and then another coat applied on top of it, and I just didn't like how it looked after I applied it. Such a shame.

Back to the Fuchsia - A bright fuchsia pink. Not something I generally go for, but I couldn't pass it up!

I've had these for a really long while now (over a year) and with that year, a lot of good and bad come with these.

They don't come off. At all. At least, not willingly. Once these set, it's like they're set in stone. You can rub at them, you can eat, you can drink, you can probably go down water slides for hours, and they don't budge. They don't even budge with a makeup remover wipe, you need to break out the bottles of makeup remover for these.

They're also incredibly drying. It's like applying acrylic paint to your lips, they zap out all of your moisture. You need to moisturize before, and after, and during their wear, you can feel how dry your lips are, and no matter how many times you lick them, they still feel dry.

Another issue, is they flake! it's super unflattering, gets on your teeth, on your face, all over the place!

If the formula was a bit more moisturizing, they'd probably be almost perfect. Since it's so dry, it causes way more problems than they're worth!

They retail at 3 dollars a piece, but I'd pass them up. There are better alternatives out there, that don't dry your lips out like a desert.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer 10

Hello again readers!

Word on the grape vine, is that the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a drugstore gem! Concealers and me, aren't the best of friends, but we should be. So far I found Glamoflauge, but a lot of the time it's just so overwhelming! It's a full-coverage concealer, and it's so easy to go overboard...

I wanted a concealer that will conceal spots and my dark circles, without brightening the area or getting cakey. Something that's harder to find than I thought.

I picked this up at Walmart when I went after-Halloween shopping with my dad, and I bought the lightest shade...

Which just so happens to be too dark for my skin.

Unfortunate? Not at all! I was disappointed at first, but when I went to use it on my dark circles and my spots? It was perfect.

The darker colour doesn't draw attention to the flaws, and when I apply my foundation over it it blends out into a perfect finish.

The formula is great too; not too thick, but not watery either. It's creamy, and blends out with ease and without a streaky mess.

The price is good too, at a little over 5 dollars a pop!

For now, this is my go-to concealer that pushed Glamoflauge out of the way to steal the spotlight.

Fright Night Claw Polish - Poison

Hello again readers!

Quick swatch of a polish I bought around Halloween.

Claw Polish - Poison

Poison is a bright, shimmery violet shade. This colour, blew me away! I was instantly drawn to it, and it's so chock full of shimmer, that it seems to have a glowing quality about it. It applies in two coats, the formula is perfect, and the bottle looks like a coffin! I loved this so much, and I'm looking forward to last year to see if they'll have colors like this again.

Claw Polish retails at 3 dollars a bottle. I wasn't sure where to really find these, but I picked mine up at Ulta.

Thursday Throwback - Wet n Wild Pop Art - A Regular at the Factory, To Muse and Carouse, Three's a Party, Teal Slowly and See, and Listening to Blue Reed

Hello again readers!

I'm starting a new segment, to accomodate the photos that were lost in folder-land on my computer:  Throwback Thursday! On some Thursdays, I'll be having posts about products that aren't available in stores anymore. You can still find them if you look for them, but the
 collections are gone.

In a way, I feel bad, but on the other it's a shame if these pictures never see the light of day.

A few months ago, Wet n Wild launched the Pop Art collection, which had some WILD colours. I was really impressed with the selection, and I ended up picking up the ones that I loved.

A Regular at the Factory

I picked up this palette, because of the orange. That's it. I love the colours, and they go well together too. The yellow in this palette was a let down. It's not as pigmented as I was hoping, and it falls a little flat for me. The blue is gorgeous, and really compliments the orange. The orange shade, is the shining star. Pigmented, and it blends well.

To Muse and Carouse

Compared to the others, I personally think this palette was an odd duck. Two neutrals, and then a pop of blue! A little safe if you ask me, but I love the colours. You get a warm tan, a beautiful brown (it's a lot like nutty!), and a gorgeous pale blue. Love the colours together, and this palette adds just a nice little extra to a usual neutral look.

Three's a Party

My holy grail from this entire collection, and my must have palette. Still kicking myself I didn't get a back up... In this palette, you get a nice frosty white, an absolutely gorgeous red, and a surprising pigmented black. With Wet n Wild, sometimes you get a black shade that's just not pigmented enough, no matter how much you work with it.

Can we talk about the red? I'm going to talk about the red eyeshadow. Red eyeshadow (in my opinion) is underrated! They make your eyes pop, and they add that edge to any look that just looks wonderful. It's suprisingly hard to find a good red eyeshadow, especially on the cheaper price ranges. This palette I immediately opened after buying, just to see how pigmented the red was, and I thought I had died and gone to red eyeshadow heaven! When I run out of this shade, I might weep actual tears, it's absolutely gorgeous and perfect for me.

Teal Slowly and See

Teal Slowly and See is a bright teal creme, barely a teal shade at all, it's more of a bright, light blue. It's definitely an eye-catcher, that's for sure. The formula was okay. It's really easy to apply too much, and it's a little runny. With patience, this applies right, and you only need two coats.

Listening to Blue Reed

This polish I felt an obligation to buy, because it was blue. I have a bit of a problem. Listening to Blue Reed is a bright blue creme. This formula was so opaque, that it was almost a one-coater! It just needed one extra coat to even out the colour. I was impressed with this one.

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks - Cinnamon Spice and Ravin' Rasin

Hello again readers!

Cinnamon Spice is a deep, burgundy red shade, just like Cinnamon! The formula for this color was a little dry, but the colour is wonderful.

Ravin' Rasin is a deep, mauve. It's even darker on me, since I'm so pale, and my god how did I go so long without picking this one up? The formula is good, almost creamy, though it needs a couple of layers to get a good, opaque colour on the lips.

H&M Makeup Haul and Swatches

Hello again readers!

I went out with Ani to her mall a bit back, and they had a CRAZY amazing sale! They had 50% off their clearance, and it was just insane to get things for 50 cents a piece! I haven't had an opportunity to try any of their cosmetics before, so I went a little crazy...

Lip Gloss:

I got All I Want is You, and You Make Me Smile. The tubes are really huge, actually, about the size of a mascara! I was surprised. It's nothing subtle that you can just toss in your bag and not worry about, they take up a bit of room. Travelling with these would be a bit of a hassle.

All I Want is You is a dusty rose, and You Make Me Smile is a deep pink with blue undertones.

The glosses themselves aren't terrible. They're a little sticky, but not overwhelmingly so. The pigmentation is okay, nothing to really write home about. The smell though... I personally like it, but it's so weird! You can smell the chemicals, and it's like the glosses are trying to hard to smell like cake, and it's just not hitting it.

All in all, they're not terrible glosses, but they are far from being favourites.

Gold Star Gloss:

The only name this product had was 'Gold Star Gloss', which, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I'm actually incredibly pleased with it! The bottle is really small, and you can hook it onto your keys or in your bag. The packaging itself is really unique, and easy to find if you decide to just toss it into your bag and forget about it.

The gloss is slicker than the other glosses I bought, but there isn't colour to it. It's a gold glitter in a clear base. The glitter isn't gritty, and it isn't distracting on the lips. I can wear this alone, or over a nice red for an instant pick-me-up. I can definitely see me wearing this for the Holidays this year.

Norwegian Sky

Norwegian Sky is a light blue creme with blue iridescent glitter. Unfortunately, the glitter doesn't really transfer onto the nail at all. In artificial lighting, you cannot tell there's glitter at all, and even in direct sunlight you have to really look at the nail to see it at all.

Really disappointing if you compare it to the bottle:

The formula wasn't that bad, a little runny, but it applied in just two coats. Not bad.

Bella's Choice

This is a polish I've been wanting from H and M for a while now, and I finally had a chance to buy it! Bella's Choice is a beautiful turquoise creme. The formula was on the thicker side, but it evened out with two coats.

Why So Blue

Why So Blue is a dust blue creme with blue iridescent glitter. The creme base reminds me a lot of China Glaze - First Mate, actually. Beautiful colour. This polish has a similar problem to Norwegian Sky, where it has gorgeous shimmer that's hard to see. It has a bit of a bigger kick, with the shimmer being seen more easily, but it's not that much better off.

It's such a shame, because the polish in the bottle looks drop-dead gorgeous, and the polish on the nail doesn't reflect that.

The polish was easier to apply, and was opaque with two coats.

Honey I'm Home

Oh so incredibly weak am I. Honey I'm Home is gorgeous, and was the first polish I picked up. It's a dusty violet creme polish. I've been wanting a polish like this, and it was meant to be. The formula was fantastic, not too thick, and not too watery. It applied in two coats.

Midnight Passion

Midnight Passion is a dark red creme. Oh, this is another one of those colours that I just can't get enough of! The formula was really good, applying perfectly in two coats. The only issue I had was the nail tips being exposed, but that's easily solved with a bit of wrapping.

Fabulous Nails Honey

Fabulous Nails Honey is a deep burgundy shimmer polish. Definitely an attention grabber. The shimmer is fantastic, and really distracts from the brush strokes of the polish. This formula was a little on the runny side, and definitely needs patience to get it to work. It took two coats for full opacity.

Out of all of the cosmetics I bought, I was really pleased with the polishes! Before I bought them, I read a lot of reviews that they were thick and hard to handle, but at 50 cents a piece, I couldn't pass them up.

This isn't a makeup item, but it was a complete steal:

I've been meaning to get a new blazer to replace my old one that is now far too big on me, and it's been hard finding one that just... works. You know how it is, when you find a blazer that fits you like a glove and makes you look extra polished?

I found this one in the store, and hanging up, it leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't look like it has any shape to it at all, but since it was on clearance, I threw caution to the wind and tried it on.

Oh man, it fits my body so well, and it looks fantastic! It was originally 25 dollars, and I got it for 5! Just what I needed to spice up a casual outfit, or add a finishing touch to a a more done-up look.

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick - Rosebud and Coral-ine

Hello again readers!

Quick swatches of some of the Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks. I am obsessed with these lipsticks, and I just keep buying more when I see ones I don't have... It's a bit of a problem.

Rosebud is a beautiful dusty rose color. Rose lipsticks are perfect for me, gives me an almost my-lips-but-better appearance, with a flush. The pigmentation is great, and the formula for this was so smooth.

Coral-ine is a warm, red-orange coral. It's darker than I'm used to, but not in a bad way. It also leans orange, which can make your teeth look really yellow. I don't actually mind the yellow-teeth look, because I do like this colour. The formula for this product was also really smooth too.

Sometimes the formulas for these are really dry, and hard to get an even application, and sometimes you get some that are really smooth and almost creamy.

Holiday 2013 - Profusion Palettes

Hello again readers!

Oops! I accidentally posted this before I added any text. My bad!

Anyway, this Holiday season Profusion has been busy putting out a bunch of palettes, and a certain set caught my eye. Each  of these palettes, is ONE DOLLAR. Yes, you read it right, one dollar for five shades. Now, are they worth it? Hm, I wasn't sure. Now I have these swatches for you, so I hope you enjoy them!

They're all shimmers, and they are all wonderful shadows.

Each of these palettes has a numbered name, 01-04.

01:

The 01 palette is full of violets. You get a nice frosty white, a grey-toned lilac, a red violet, a blue violet, and a black, all of them shimmery. This palette is so wonderful, and you get so many uses out of it! I was impressed with the pigmentation, and that black is to die for!

02:

Palette 02 is the neutral palette, a must-have if you ask me. You get a nice champagne, a warm sand colour, a tan shimmer, a greenish-brown shimmer, and a deep brown shimmer. I kept getting blown away with these shadows.

03:

This palette isn't as versatile, but yet it's the first one I bought, for one main reason, which I will get to in just a moment. You get a warm tan, a nice brown, a lime green, a forest green, and oh yes, a navy blue! The navy blue is more than I could have ever hoped for, and it's absolutely perfect!

04:

Palette 04 is the least workable out of all of them, mostly because of how bright they are! If you love bright colours, then you need this in your life, but I'm a huge fan of darker colours and neutrals.

You get a bright yellow, a pink, a light mint, a beautiful periwinkle, and a steal-your-breath-away cobalt blue. The colours are not disappointing in the slightest, and if you want attention, you're sure to get it with these!

These palettes have raised my standards on cheap drugstore products, I mean honestly, they're only a buck! 01, and 02 are must-haves, truly they are. They're so versitaile! I've already purchased backups, and I won't be looking back!
