Maybelline Color Tattoos - Creamy Beige, and Dramatic Black

These aren't new by any means, but they're recent additions to my collection. I went out and started adding to my Maybelline Color Tattoo collection once again (remember when I was really obsessed with this killer fomula and went crazy trying to buy all the shades?) and I stopped myself at buying just the two ...

Creamy Beige: A nice neutral brown with slight glitter.

I bought this shade to use as an all-over-the-lid shade, as well as a base for certain looks. I was a little shocked to find sparse glitter, but I was happy with how pigmented and creamy the formula is (no big shocker). This is like how I often find the color tattoos to be, and I was pleased to have added it to my collection.

Dramatic Black: Matte black.

I bought this because someone on YouTube mentioned they love it as an eyeliner. I was excited to try it, because they tend to last so long on my eyes, but this one was a disappointment. It wasn't as pigmented as Color Tattoos tend to be, as it was patchy and took a few coats to build up the true black opacity. The wear time was tragic. I don't know if it's the formula for this particular shadow, but it smeared, and didn't last on me at all. It faded and by the end of the day looked patchy. I wanted another black "liner" to be added to my recommendation list, and this just fell short.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation - 110

Hello again readers!

I'm really trying to buff up my foundation collection. Drug Stores really don't make enough foundations for those who are super pale. 

The foundation is decently cheap, only around 5-6 dollars, and it's really easy to find, since you can pick it up at any drugstore.

I like the packaging, just sleek glass with a black cap. It's like a square version of the Revlon Colorstay in terms of packaging, really.

The formula for this foundation is a little runny, so it's really easy to over-distribute product onto your makeup palette or the back of your hand or a tray to apply to your face.

The product goes on really well, giving a light to medium coverage. It doesn't take much at all to get a flawless look, and if you need a little extra, it layers well. The finish is a satin look, not matte, but not dewy either. I however still set it with a powder since I have oily skin, and this product really soaked up that powder like a sponge, keeping it in place.

However, after a few hours, I noticed that it wore off, especially at high-points like my forehead ,my cheeks, my nose, and my chin. Also, around the rest of my cheeks, I could see little dots where the foundation would settle into the pores of my face, which wasn't appealing at all. It also had the added negative that when I wore it, it would cling to all of my dry skin on my face, it was just unfortunate.

Obviously it's not a good match colour wise... I was really expecting it to work, since in the bottle it just looks perfect, but out of the bottle it goes on darker, and then it oxidizes to an orange hue, so it isn't flattering on me at all.

I didn't have the highest expectations, since I've have heard negative things about this product, but sometimes you really just have to try a product to see if it'll work for you or not.

I didn't like it, but what were your experiences with this product?

Big Lots Haul and Swatches

Well, I certainly have taken my sweet time in coming back. School started up again, and well, education comes first. I didn't have much time to take swatches, let alone make a blog post about them...

Anyway, years ago I thought Big Lots wasn't that great, it's just a shop that I just wasn't interested in until this past year after seeing some of the amazing deals that people have been getting with cosmetics. Now I'm kind of hooked, and I go there about once a month or so to see what kind of goodies I can get. Here we go!

Wet n Wild -  Greed

I started really getting into makeup when these palettes were still in stores (I really remember getting 3/4 of them and missing out on this one!).

Wet n Wild is not MAC or Inglot by any means, but they do have some great shadows, and their 6-pans were great! You'd get three matte, and three shimmer colours in each palette. 

Swatched Dry

In this palette, you get three mattes: a cream, an orange-brown shade, and a black. The black isn't that pigmented, but for adding a little bit of definition to the outer corner or to the crease it should work fine.

You also get three shimmers: A light silver with a small amount of gold shimmer (it looks so warm because I swatched it over the L'Oreal Caresse Shine Stain... oops!), a nice rose-gold, and a shimmery black. Once again, the black isn't the most pigmented, and really I'm never wild about shimmery blacks... however, the lighter colours are gorgeous.

You can still find these (many of these) paired with the Lust palette at Big Lots for only 3.50! 

L'Oreal Color Riche Balm - Laze in the Maze and Sundays by the Scene

Another one of those products that I didn't want at their full priced, but once I found them on sale I had to have them...

I adore the packaging on the Color Riche Balms! They are so cute, with the coloured caps and the gold plastic holding the balm. It just looks really adorable, and it's something you can easily find in your purse too. I'm also really pleased that the caps don't come off easily, as I was expecting them too, but they really do hold up to their own.

Sundays by the Scene is a clear balm with a pearl shimmer to it. I wasn't expecting a colour, since I've seen swatches beforehand, but I'm still a little bummed that it's not really a blue-colour... It'd be so unique!

Laze in the Maze is a bright, bubblegum pink. I have to be honest, I was prepared to hate it, but after wearing it, I fell in love! It's a perfect summer pink.

I had to lighten up the lip swatches, because for some reason they came out so dark, even when I took them facing the sun, what's up with that?

Sundays by the Scene adds a shine to your lips, kind of like a frosted effect.

Laze in the Maze

Something I really noticed was that the balms really liked to settle into the lines of your lips, which could be an issue if you have a lot or you get dry lips (like me) a lot. In most cases, it might not be noticeable, but if you're really looking closely you can definitely see it.

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipgloss - Coral Heat

I bought this one on a whim, and I gotta say, I am loving my nude trend!

Coral Heat is a beautiful coral pink creme lipgloss, that has just the right amount of pigment. The wear is a little slicker than the NYX Butter Glosses, but how opaque it was is similar.

It adds just the right touch of colour, and it's very flattering.

Revlon - Pink in the Afternoon and Night Sky

I haven't had a Revlon Lipstick in a while, so this is my first one I went out and bought for myself! The last one I had, was a gift.

And I was pretty excited for the eyeshadow too.

Pink in the Afternoon is a dusty, rose pink creme. I was really pleased with how pigmented it was, and with just one swipe gave a great pop of colour. It's pink enough to add more, but not too distracting either.

Night Sky is a blackened eyeshadow base with iridescent glitter. I was a little let down, seeing as it's so gorgeous in the pan, but swatching it was a nightmare. Unless you do this wet, prepare to apply layer after layer... after layer to where you want it. It's a hassle, and I wasn't wild about it... I guess I can use it for an eyeliner with some mixing medium, but I might end up just forgetting about it, no matter how pretty it is.

Maybelline Great Lash - I See Blue

I really want to get my hands on Maybelline Great Lash in Royal Blue, but seeing this for so cheap? Sold!

I See Blue is a bright blue that grabs your attention very quickly. I was really impressed with how opaque this mascara was, and was expecting to have to do at least three coats to get proper colour, but I only needed two for full effect! It goes on so great, and even if it's  not waterproof, is definitely a thumbs up.

L.A.Colors - Glossin Go Dazzling Lipgloss and Navy Blue Liquid Eyeliner

The L.A. Colors Navy Eyeliner I instnatly fell in love with at first swatch. It's a gorgeous deep navy, that gets full colour in a single swipe (you may have to go over it) and I was so excited to try it on that as soon as I got home i applied it.... And instantly had my heart broken.

The eyeliner was really runny, which isn't the biggest deal, my ELF eyeliners are runny too, but once this got in my eyes, they BURNED. Even applying it anywhere near my lid my eyes would start to water, and the eyeliner would get all over the place. I love the colour, but the pain isn't worth it.

Dazzing however, is a different story. It's a standard gloss, and I was expecting it to have minimal coverage, but I was surprised. It's a bright pink with a pearlescent shift, and it applied in one coat! It doesn't have a very good smell or taste, but it looks really great, and it's as slick as I come to expect from a gloss. Wear time is average.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Tenacious Teal, Silver Strike, and Inked in Pink

Hello again readers!

I'm still working on collecting all of the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I just can't get enough of them! I have three more from the permanent shades to show you! (Which leaves about 12 others that I don't have... it's a never-ending battle apparently!)

Silver Strike and Tenacious Teal

Silver Strike is a bright silver metalic shade. It went on with minimal problems, and didn't take too much product to be opaque. I can see this as a great base shade, or for a quick all-over-the-lid look.

Tenacious Teal is a bright blue with a slight amount of green. It's really more of a blue than a teal, however.  It is one of those that looks fantastic, but  needs patience to work with. You have to add a few layers to really get a bold colour, and to get it even.

Inked in Pink

Inked in Pink is a fantastic dusty pink metalic shade. I fell in love at first swatch. This is one of the shades that is incredibly pigmented, with only a little bit of product applied.

I'm always so incredibly impressed with the Color Tattoos, and getting a  new one for my collection is like Christmas. I can't rave about them enough, because of how wonderful I think they are. They work great, are budget friendly, and can do multiple jobs with just a little bit of product.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Summer Collection

Hello again readers!

It's time again for another Throwback Thursday! 

When the summer collection of the Maybelline Color Tattoos launched, I only picked up two from the collection. I didn't want to spend more money on the others since I wasn't in love with them. Some of them are chrome shadows, and others just have high shimmer that really pop at you, but I didn't instantly fall in love with any of them besides Waves of White and Seashore Frost.

However, I saw that they were at Big Lots for a dollar, I just had to get them! (Which is how my little obsession truly started...).

Now presenting the last six shades in the collection.

Precious Pearl

Precious Pearl is a cream white with shimmer. I'm not the biggest fan of white shadows, ever, and aside from highlighting I don't really reach for them, but this is a nice subtle colour. I can see this as a browbone shade, or right in the inner conner. It's more like a sheer wash of colour than anything else.

Icy Mint

Icy Mint is a sheer mint shimmer. I'm always drawn to mint colours, even though I can't always pull it off, but I did pass this up the first time. Even being swatched for myself, I'm still not blown away. It's not that incredibly pigmented, and it's not really something that I could see myself wearing often at all.

Cool Crush

Cool Crush is a light, blue silver metallic. I liked this more than I thought I would. The pigmentation is really nice, and with a darker grey this would make a great smokey eye shade.

Sandy Shores

Sandy Shores is a bright yellow shadow with green duochrome. I was really surprised with this one, truly I was. I'm not the biggest fan of yellow, since it makes me look really sick, but this one just sort of stole my heart a little bit. 

Blue Paradise

Cool Crush is a darker blue-silver colour with a periwinkle shift. It's really unique, and I was kicking myself a little bit for not picking it up sooner. (Though, I guess I'm glad I didn't since I saved a little over four dollars by waiting...) 

Lavish Lavender

Lavish Lavender is a dusty lavender with heavy shimmer. This one stole my heart and ran away with it, and was my biggest bummer that I didn't pick up first round. Out of all eight of them, this is my second favourite (Seashore Frost is my number one), and this is one I can see wearing a lot.

Layered over black, some of these really bring a new twist (the duochromes), though the rest I prefer on their own. These shades are pretty wonderful, and even the ones I wasn't overly impressed with I can see using in the future.

Saturday Spam - Nail Polishes

Hello again readers!

I have a lot of polishes to show you all, so strap in and enjoy!

Revlon - Mistletoe

Mistletoe is a charcoal base polish with gold and green glitter. I bought this forever ago on clearance for under a dollar, and never got around to swatching it. It applies in two coats, and the formula is a little on the runny side. 

Finger Paints - Colorful Collage

Colorful Collage is a clear base loaded with chunky holographic glitter. It was a little hard to get them spaced out, since they wanted to clump together, but it was easy enough separating them again. This is just one coat over Sinful Colors - Coffee.

Finger Paints - Bombshell

I keep finding the Peridot dupes everywhere, and I finally picked one up just to have one. Bombshell is a gold/green duochrome. It shows the brushstrokes, which is always a little bummy, but it applied well.

Spoiled - Champagne Siren

Champagne Siren is a gold glitter suspended in a clear base. This is packed with glitter, but not enough to wear on it's own. This polish is a great one to have to just "fancy" up your manicure. Adding a little touch of glitter to spice it up.

Maybelline - Color Show - Ageless Olive

Ageless Olive is a grey-green polish with little silver flakes throughout. I love mattes, but you definitely need a ridge filler to make them look good. I love this polish, however, and it was just gorgeous, so when I saw it when I was out with Ani? I couldn't resist! It applied in just two coats.

Salon Perfect - Shocked

I actually returned this, so I don't have it worn on the nail, but Shocked is made up of hot pink and blue glitter in a clear base. You can wear it over a colour, or on it's on with three coats. I did four to be safe. It would need a couple layers of top coat to be smooth, since it's gritty to the touch otherwise.

Salon Perfect - Kaboom

Kaboom is a neon green and blue glitter suspended in a clear base. It's a dupe of Floam, so i you want to save a few dollars this is a good alternative. It applies with three coats, four to be safe, or layered over a colour. It also needs a couple layers of top coat if you want it smooth, otherwise it will be gritty.

Orly - Matte FX - Green Flakie Topcoat

Orly Matte FX in Green Flakie Topcoat is something I'm really glad to have in my collection. It's a nice blue-themed flakie, that is said to dry matte. I think it dries more of a semi-matte, since it still looked so shinny! I tried one coat over Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See, and over Maybelline Ageless Olive.

Essie - Skirting the Issue

One of the many shades I just can't get enough of - blood reds. Essie - Skirting the Issue, is a beautiful blood red jelly. This is with three coats, and as you can see, you can still see some nail tips/gunk. Yuck! I think this is a fantastic polish for jelly sandwiches, but I don't see myself wearing this on it's own.

Funky Fingers - Jawbreaker

After seeing Pretty in Polished's version of Jawbreaker, I was itching for one for my collection. Lucky for me, I found an almost-dupe with Funky Fingers - Jawbreaker. It's a fantastic polish, that wears alone with just three coats. Packed with colourful glitter that just makes you think of candy, it's a wonderful polish to have. I even bought one for my sister!

Charlotte Russe - Periwinkle

Periwinkle is actually not the name of this polish. Charlotte Russe doesn't have names for their polishes, or even colour numbers, so I had to name it myself. However, 'nameless' as it is, this is a wonderful polish. It applies in two coats, dries pretty quickly, and didn't give me any problem. I also really love the bottle as well.
