Sinful Colors Sunday

Hello again readers!

Have some polish swatches for you! I have found these often in Big Lots, so I just compiled them for you in this post.

Coffe is a warm toned brown creme. I'm not a fan of browns really, and this one did make my hands look read. Not my favourite, but the formula was very good. I used two coats.

Hot Wired is metallic cool silver. I admittedly thought it was one of the magnetic polishes from a while back, but I was mistaken. It's not a bad color, it's just not something I would have picked up otherwise. It makes my hands look really red, and this formula was very runny. I used to coats for the photo.

Into the Blue is a cobalt blue creme. I can never get enough of this kind of blue. The formula was nice to work with. Not too thick, not too runny, and applied well. I did have a fear that it would be too patchy, but it evened out with two coats.

Fig is a magenta with blue, pink, and violet shimmer. It looks as good on the nail as it does in the bottle. Unfortunately it also looks terrible on me... The formula was good to work with, and I didn't have any issues. I used two coats.

Enchanted was one of the polishes on my wishlist, a violet creme polish. Enchanted has a great formula, and applied in two coats.



Neon Melon is a BRIGHT yellow, that leans almost yellow-green with how bright it is. It isn't able to be built up on it's own without showing the tips of my nail, so I put two layers over Sinful Colors Snow Me White.



Fusion Neon is another neon from this line. It isn't able to be built up on it's own without showing the tips of my nail, so I put two layers over Sinful Colors Snow Me White.



Pink is surprisingly also a neon. I picked it up expecting a name to go with it, and was shocked to see it was just pink! It isn't able to be built up on it's own without showing the tips of my nail, so I put two layers over Sinful Colors Snow Me White.



Who's the Gloss is from their Sinful Shine line, and it's just beautiful. A taupe polish with heavy pink and violet shimmer through it. I used two coats for the photo, and the formula was a dream.



Mirror Mirror is another polish from their Sinful Shine line. It's a deep red jelly polish. I was a little disappointed that it was a jelly, because I just can't find myself liking them much. It was slightly runny, but applied well. I used three coats for the photo above. This would be a great shade to make a jelly sandwich.



Force Field is one of their magnetic polishes from way back. If you look, you can still find them at Big Lots sometimes, which is where I found the three I have. It's an emerald green polish with silvery green magnetic designs. I used two coats.



It's Electric is a blue-teal polish with silver blue magnetic designs. I was really happy with this one, even though I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I used two coats.



Magnetism is a true 'magnet' look. It's a silver with a lighter silver magnetic design. It's the most subtle of the three that I have, and if you're not looking for it, it's easy to miss the designs on the nail. I used two coats.

Sinful Colors - Pride Swatch

Hello again readers!

Long time no see, right? Well, fret no more, I have a new swatch for you today. Around Christmas, Sinful Colors released a bunch of new shades, and this one just so happened to stick around for the permanent collection.

Pride is a multi-coloured glitter suspended in a clear base. The glitter likes to clump together, and you may have to add some more glitter to spots, but I really like how colourful this topper is. It's really fun, and for two dollars, why not?

Saturday Spam - Nail Polishes

Hello again readers!

I have a lot of polishes to show you all, so strap in and enjoy!

Revlon - Mistletoe

Mistletoe is a charcoal base polish with gold and green glitter. I bought this forever ago on clearance for under a dollar, and never got around to swatching it. It applies in two coats, and the formula is a little on the runny side. 

Finger Paints - Colorful Collage

Colorful Collage is a clear base loaded with chunky holographic glitter. It was a little hard to get them spaced out, since they wanted to clump together, but it was easy enough separating them again. This is just one coat over Sinful Colors - Coffee.

Finger Paints - Bombshell

I keep finding the Peridot dupes everywhere, and I finally picked one up just to have one. Bombshell is a gold/green duochrome. It shows the brushstrokes, which is always a little bummy, but it applied well.

Spoiled - Champagne Siren

Champagne Siren is a gold glitter suspended in a clear base. This is packed with glitter, but not enough to wear on it's own. This polish is a great one to have to just "fancy" up your manicure. Adding a little touch of glitter to spice it up.

Maybelline - Color Show - Ageless Olive

Ageless Olive is a grey-green polish with little silver flakes throughout. I love mattes, but you definitely need a ridge filler to make them look good. I love this polish, however, and it was just gorgeous, so when I saw it when I was out with Ani? I couldn't resist! It applied in just two coats.

Salon Perfect - Shocked

I actually returned this, so I don't have it worn on the nail, but Shocked is made up of hot pink and blue glitter in a clear base. You can wear it over a colour, or on it's on with three coats. I did four to be safe. It would need a couple layers of top coat to be smooth, since it's gritty to the touch otherwise.

Salon Perfect - Kaboom

Kaboom is a neon green and blue glitter suspended in a clear base. It's a dupe of Floam, so i you want to save a few dollars this is a good alternative. It applies with three coats, four to be safe, or layered over a colour. It also needs a couple layers of top coat if you want it smooth, otherwise it will be gritty.

Orly - Matte FX - Green Flakie Topcoat

Orly Matte FX in Green Flakie Topcoat is something I'm really glad to have in my collection. It's a nice blue-themed flakie, that is said to dry matte. I think it dries more of a semi-matte, since it still looked so shinny! I tried one coat over Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See, and over Maybelline Ageless Olive.

Essie - Skirting the Issue

One of the many shades I just can't get enough of - blood reds. Essie - Skirting the Issue, is a beautiful blood red jelly. This is with three coats, and as you can see, you can still see some nail tips/gunk. Yuck! I think this is a fantastic polish for jelly sandwiches, but I don't see myself wearing this on it's own.

Funky Fingers - Jawbreaker

After seeing Pretty in Polished's version of Jawbreaker, I was itching for one for my collection. Lucky for me, I found an almost-dupe with Funky Fingers - Jawbreaker. It's a fantastic polish, that wears alone with just three coats. Packed with colourful glitter that just makes you think of candy, it's a wonderful polish to have. I even bought one for my sister!

Charlotte Russe - Periwinkle

Periwinkle is actually not the name of this polish. Charlotte Russe doesn't have names for their polishes, or even colour numbers, so I had to name it myself. However, 'nameless' as it is, this is a wonderful polish. It applies in two coats, dries pretty quickly, and didn't give me any problem. I also really love the bottle as well.

Sinful Colors Holiday 2013 - Unwrap Me, Pine Away, and Purple Heart

Hello again readers!

Sinful Colors have a bunch of new colours  and new collections for the holidays this year, as well as some old favorites you may have missed! 

There are five: Mirror Metallics, Glitzed and Glittered, Tinsel N'Ice, Sheer Luster Topcoats, and Based in Style.

I wasn't too wild about many of them, unfortunately, but I did pick up three.

Unwrap Me

Unwrap Me is a nail topper with red, and multi-sized black glitter in a clear base. It's from the Glitz and Glittered collection. It reminded me of Hard Candy - Masquerade, but the black glitter wasn't overwhelming. It's festive, without screaming 'Holidays!'. 

The application went well, and there wasn't any glitter lifting off the nail.

I used one coat over Wet n Wild - Teal Slowly and See

Pine Away

Pine away is a bright metallic green.  It's from the Mirror Metallics collection.

This color really screams Christmas, out of the three that I purchased. Application was fantastic, but clean up was a bit of a bummer. This polish stains if you're not careful.

I used two coats.

Purple Heart

Purple Heart is a metallic purple. It's also from the Mirror Metallics collection.

This one is absolutely gorgeous in the bottle, and it transfers perfectly onto the nail. It didn't give me any trouble, it applied well, and cleaned up well too.

Sinful Colors Leather Luxe - Whipped, Leather Loose, Cool Leather, and Get It On

Hello again readers!

Until my nails grow out (for me to cut them down again, right now they're claws..), I'm doing my swatches on the nail wheel and photographing them that way... It'll be like this for the next couple of weeks, so bear with me!

Sinful Colors launched an all matte collection called Leather Luxe. In the collection, it had a total of  7 new polishes! Whipped, Leather Loose, Cool Leather, Get It On, Laced Up (orange), Strapped (Dusty Green), and My Turn (Grey). It also had bottles of the top coat to go along with it.

Out of the seven, I picked up four.

Whipped is a matte black creme. I /loved/ this. I love black polishes, and I always have a bunch in my collection, but this is the first matte black I own! It was opaque with two coats, dried very quickly, and the formula was amazing! Absolutely a must-have for me.

Leather Loose is a dark, chocolate brown matte polish with yellow/orange/copper glitter. Absolutely gorgeous, and if you get any of the polishes, I suggest this one! It's the only one in the collection with shimmer too, so it's a double win. It looks good matte, and with top coat. This one was a little thicker than the others, but it's not hard to work with at all.

Cool Leather is a nice, nautical matte blue creme. The formula was good, and it was opaque with 2 coats.

Get It On is a matte berry creme. Oh, I loved this shade! The formula was great, and it was opaque in two coats.

Sinful Colors - Shock and Awe + Comparison with Sinful Colors - Endless Blue

Hello again readers~

I picked up this polish from Target a bit ago, seeing them in a little bin. It's the only one I wanted, as the others were warm colours.

This is one of those polishes that were exclusive to Target, priced at 2 dollars each, and like I said, displayed in a bin. Not the most attractive display, but they were all bright and it caught my eye.

Shock and Awe is a bright, blue-violet creme polish.

And it applies wonderfully in two coats, I didn't have any problems with it.

Comparison to Endless Blue:

I was a little turned off, of how these two polishes were. Shock and Awe is so similar, just blue-violet instead of cobalt. They were too close in colour for me, though if you collect Sinful Colors polishes or have a desire to have multiple different shades, then this is just as great as the other polishes.

For me, it wasn't something I needed.

Sinful Colors - Quick Dry

Hello again readers~

Just a quick little review for all of you~

Sinful Colors Quick Dry

I picked up this bottle of Quick Dry polish. quite a while ago, and unfortunately never got around to really reviewing it. No time like the present!

The quick dry polish isn't really a drop-form product, which is disappointing. It's a brush applicator, which if you brush it onto newly applied polish will cause brush-strokes, pick-up of polish, and general disaster. The first time I ever used it I wanted to pull my hair out (of course I didn't, because I didn't want polish and product getting gooped up in my hair!).

The best way I found to use it, is to really  make drops fall onto the nail, and let it run down. Otherwise your nail polish might have less-than-satisfactory results.

The other thing, is that it's a very oily product, and you shouldn't be touching other things while applying this (like keyboards...) because it transfers everywhere. You don't even notice until you see the residue.

I did notice a significant change in the drying time, though that was the top layer which was within a minute or to.

Pros:
-Inexpensive: $3.99
-Cuts down drying time A LOT

Cons:
-Brush applicator that's problematic
-You use more than you think
-It's an oily product


Overall: 4/5
I could live without it but it makes my routine go by a lot faster. It's effective, cheap, and I've used this quiet a bit and it barely has a dent in it. If you like fast-drying products, maybe give this a try. You might like it.

Sinful Colors - Nirvana

Hello again readers~

I'm gone for the day so I'll leave you with a quick post of Sinful Colors (Matte) Nirvana.

(Matte) Nirvana is a light brown creme. Contrary to the name, it's NOT matte. Which is a shame, it'd look great as a matte...

There is a regular Nirvana as well, and I picked this one because it was lighter. Here's a comparison at Pointless Cafe here.

I don't have a polish like this, and this is my first brown. I don't really have interest in browns at all, since they don't look that good on me. Matte) Nirvana makes my hands look a little red, but I do like the color.

It applied in two coats and was very easy to control.

New Sinful Colors Launches

Hello again readers~

It seems Sinful Colors just keeps releasing more and more polishes, to the joy (or misery) of those who collect them.

Sinful Shine is their launch of  'Gel Tech' polishes, which are a dollar more expensive. Most of these colours can be duped in the permanent line, but some are rare and might just be worth grabbing a few. (I know I picked up four myself).

I'm really interested on how well these last up, and if they even need a top coat at all. 

I picked up four of them, Alfresco, Amazonian, Steel Reserve and Dark Room.

Alfresco - Light Blue with shimmer. A little thick, but evened out with two coats.

Amazonian - dark emerald green with shimmer.  Sheer at first, builds up in two coats. Fantastic formula. My favourite of the four.

Steel Reserve - darkened blue-grey cream. An almost dupe for China Glaze - Concrete Catwalk, but darker. A little thick, but evened out with two coats.

Dark Room - Black Cream. Two coats, great formula. Couldn't pass it up.

And another collection! At first I mistook it for the Almost Famous collection, and I'm really glad I went back. Diamond Dust has a new type of glitter polish, that I'm absolutely blown away by. DIAMOND shaped glitter. 

Kind of obvious now with the name, but it's not something too often done. I wasn't too eager to pick up any of the coloured ones, but I picked up Crystal Clear which is a silver holo.

I regret photographing on a white backdrop today, since it doesn't bring out the colours as well as a darker backdrop... next time I shoot I'll go back to black, because it was a hassle trying to get colours to show true. :(
