Holiday 2013 - Profusion Palettes

Hello again readers!

Oops! I accidentally posted this before I added any text. My bad!

Anyway, this Holiday season Profusion has been busy putting out a bunch of palettes, and a certain set caught my eye. Each  of these palettes, is ONE DOLLAR. Yes, you read it right, one dollar for five shades. Now, are they worth it? Hm, I wasn't sure. Now I have these swatches for you, so I hope you enjoy them!

They're all shimmers, and they are all wonderful shadows.

Each of these palettes has a numbered name, 01-04.

01:

The 01 palette is full of violets. You get a nice frosty white, a grey-toned lilac, a red violet, a blue violet, and a black, all of them shimmery. This palette is so wonderful, and you get so many uses out of it! I was impressed with the pigmentation, and that black is to die for!

02:

Palette 02 is the neutral palette, a must-have if you ask me. You get a nice champagne, a warm sand colour, a tan shimmer, a greenish-brown shimmer, and a deep brown shimmer. I kept getting blown away with these shadows.

03:

This palette isn't as versatile, but yet it's the first one I bought, for one main reason, which I will get to in just a moment. You get a warm tan, a nice brown, a lime green, a forest green, and oh yes, a navy blue! The navy blue is more than I could have ever hoped for, and it's absolutely perfect!

04:

Palette 04 is the least workable out of all of them, mostly because of how bright they are! If you love bright colours, then you need this in your life, but I'm a huge fan of darker colours and neutrals. 

You get a bright yellow, a pink, a light mint, a beautiful periwinkle, and a steal-your-breath-away cobalt blue. The colours are not disappointing in the slightest, and if you want attention, you're sure to get it with these!

These palettes have raised my standards on cheap drugstore products, I mean honestly, they're only a buck! 01, and 02 are must-haves, truly they are. They're so versitaile! I've already purchased backups, and I won't be looking back!

Shiny Precision Liquid Eyeshadow

Hello again readers!

Just a quick review of these cute little eyeshadows I got from the Dollar Tree a few days back. They're the Shiny Precision Liquid Eyeshadows.

They come in twelve colours, but there was only five of those colours available when I went: black, green, pink, brass, and copper.

Moving right along....

I picked up the brass and the copper colours, and I have to say, the packaging is adorable! The plastic cap is painted silver with cute little flowers and hearts on it. It's one of the reasons these caught my eye. Now, the packaging is only the outside, and truly, it's what is on the inside that counts...

They applied okay, the copper went on fantastic with one swatch, but the brass needed two swipes, and you can see all the product that got nudged off to the sides... 

And the colours smelled. I can't really put my finger on it, but they didn't smell that great.

Then I waited for them to dry....

And waitied....

And waited...

It took forever, and they still weren't setting. Or maybe they did, and they just get moved too easily.

This is after five minutes, when I went to rub them:

They didn't stand a chance at all! Maybe I was using them wrong? I went online, where I saw pictures where they'd blend the product out, so I reapplied, and tried that method:

The colours didn't really show up at all! They might on my skin, but I'm very pale so that won't help you if you have a tan, or a darker complexion.  I wasn't impressed at all!

I let them sit for a while, and rubbed them again, and the colour STILL came off. It wasn't the fact that I needed to blend them out, they're just a nightmare to work with! They rub all over the place, the glitter gets everywhere, it's like working with oil on your skin. It just wont' last.

When I went to remove them, they didn't put up an ounce of a fight. They came right off with a single swipe of my makeup remover wipe.

Pros:
-Cute packaging
-Really cheap

Cons:
-terrible formula
-terrible pigmentation
-terrible performance
-terrible everything

Overall: 1/5
All in all... I hated these! The packaging is cute, but that's all it has going for them. I don't think they set, they rub off, and they don't stay!

Sephora X - Wham!

Hello again readers!

Sephora recently relaunched their Sephora X polishes with a HUGE range of colours, toppers, and choices! It was overwhelming walking into Sephora to see all of the bottles of new polish just begging to be bought. I was really excited to walk in and swatch a few of them, and I settled on one that I just had to buy and do a mani with. The price is steeper than I'm used to, but with this experience... well, I'll let the review speak for itself.

Wham!

The bottle is really unique. With square bottles, a huge problem that occurs is that it doesn't line up after you open it... I had a problem getting it open! I was really happy to see that the 'cap', houses the real one underneath! Really unique, it keeps the shape of the bottle, untarnished and keeps the users in mind.

The circular cap underneath isn't anything revolutionary, but it holds comfortably in your hand to make application easy for you.

 Wham! is an all white glitter. Hex glitter, circle glitter, bar glitter, it's just fantastic. Easy to see why I chose this one, huh?

I was definitely impressed with this polish. I didn't have problems with the glitter being dragged all over, and I didn't have to go in and dab the glitter on. The polish wasn't thick, it was easy to apply, and the result was phenomenal. I used one coat of Wham! over China Glaze - Crimson.

I loved this so much, I'm already thinking of getting some of the other ones. Eyeing Blast Off something fierce.

Sinful Colors Holiday 2013 - Unwrap Me, Pine Away, and Purple Heart

Hello again readers!

Sinful Colors have a bunch of new colours  and new collections for the holidays this year, as well as some old favorites you may have missed! 

There are five: Mirror Metallics, Glitzed and Glittered, Tinsel N'Ice, Sheer Luster Topcoats, and Based in Style.

I wasn't too wild about many of them, unfortunately, but I did pick up three.

Unwrap Me

Unwrap Me is a nail topper with red, and multi-sized black glitter in a clear base. It's from the Glitz and Glittered collection. It reminded me of Hard Candy - Masquerade, but the black glitter wasn't overwhelming. It's festive, without screaming 'Holidays!'. 

The application went well, and there wasn't any glitter lifting off the nail.

I used one coat over Wet n Wild - Teal Slowly and See

Pine Away

Pine away is a bright metallic green.  It's from the Mirror Metallics collection.

This color really screams Christmas, out of the three that I purchased. Application was fantastic, but clean up was a bit of a bummer. This polish stains if you're not careful.

I used two coats.

Purple Heart

Purple Heart is a metallic purple. It's also from the Mirror Metallics collection.

This one is absolutely gorgeous in the bottle, and it transfers perfectly onto the nail. It didn't give me any trouble, it applied well, and cleaned up well too.

New Name and New Changes!

Hello again readers!

I have changed my url, to fit my new name. My blog is going to go through some major changes, especially over my breaks this year! School has been thoroughly taking over my life and how I can spend my free time, so i need to set more time aside for this! I hope to be bringing new and better things, as well as some throw backs! I neglect this too much, and I want to succeed in this.

Spooky Shopping Part 2

Hello again readers!

I went shopping again, for after Halloween goodies. It's the best, I can get things for 50+% off. It's fantastic! I went out, and got some really good finds.

Target:

I got a new pillow, two hand towels, a web rug, maroon lace tights, and a new pair of spiderweb tights.

A new flask. I missed out last year, but the design for this year is even better! The middle is a plastic container with little mixing sticks for drinks, and finally another mixer. I love them all so much.

And finally from Target, this Captain America beanie! I found them when I was with Michaela a while ago, and it was the last one! It fits so well, and it's so warm too...

Michael's:

I was really disappointed how little there was for Halloween... It was already all replaced with Christmas decorations. A little early, don't you think?

I got the ribbon I've been wanting, a box of orange lights for my room, and a new Hello Kitty tin for q-tips for my bag. It comes with candy, but I don't like cherry flavoured things.

Walgreens:

I picked up a journal/calendar, and a new memo pad for quick notes. The journal/calendar is really weird, it doesn't have things numbered, so I'm going to have to figure out a proper way to organize it.

And while there, I found this year's skull! I named him Chandler, and he is definitely the flashiest out of the three of the skulls I own.

Walmart:

My dad actually picked all of this up for me, with a quick run to Walmart to pick up another cup and the concealer.

New cups! I got a skull one last year, and we put it in the dishwasher... They aren't dishwasher safe, and my cup warped. :( Now I have two new ones, and two other ones. The poison cup is fantastic, and glows in the dark, but I have to colour one of the shapes in, because the spider has a lot of details to it....

And I was able to get the Maybelline Fit Me concealer for a good price, since I had a coupon.

And he bought me these wicked awesome sleep pants! I love the patterns for all of them, but the monochromatic orange ones are my absolute favourites. the pattern is awesome, and creepy in all of the right ways.

And when I got all settled at home, mum and dad gave me this wallet:

It's perfect! It's just like my 'batman' wallet, but with really creepy skulls. I'm using another wallet now, but I'll have to trade them out after the semester is over.

October's Top 5:

1.) Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo - This is my favourite dry shampoo, and it's so handy. It makes my hair look great, adds a bit of volume, smells heavenly, and is really inexpensive too!

2.) Physician's Formula Healthy Wear Foundation in Fair/Light - I'm back to super easy and simple makeup. A quick application with a powder brush all over my face and I'm good for the day. It doesn't cake on my face, it doesn't make me look too made up, and it has SPF50. My favourite pressed powder to date.

3.) Benefit They're Real Mascara - I hate the wand, but I've been using this up so it doesn't go to waste. It does add curl, color, and a tid bit of volume. Quick and easy and I can just brush it on and go without worrying about transfer, since the formula is dryer than my other mascaras.

4.) Love and Beauty Brown Eyeshadow Single - I use this for my eyebrows, and sometimes just for a bit of definition in my crease. It's not the most pigmented, but it does the job.

5.) E.L.F. Small Angled Brush - I use this brush everyday. It's perfect for applying pigment to my brows, and for eyeliner too. I need to definitely pick up another one, since the other day I accidentally painted my brows with the eyeshadow tainted with gel lier!
