HIP Gel Eyeliner - Teal

Hello again readers!

I'm just going to keep the ball rolling. I'm in a good mood, so I'm in a blogging mood!

I'm really saddened that I jumped onto the makeup bandwagon far too late, and missed out on a lot of amazing and cool looking products... this is one of them.

L'Oreal H.I.P. Gel Eyeliner - Teal

I found this at a 5 below, and snatched it up. I remembered a long time ago, where I saw H.I.P. all over the place, and since they aren't permanent, come and go as they please. I managed to get this for about 3 dollars, and couldn't wait to try it when I got home.

The brush that came with it is pretty useless, it's like the brush that comes with the Wet n Wild Cream Eyeliner. It's too short to get a good grip on, and the bristles are soft, but too stiff and wipe off the eyeliner as soon as I apply it. I kept the brush for special effects purposes, but I wont' be using it for eyeliner.

I wasn't kidding when I said I couldn't wait, I swatched it as soon as I got home, forgetting completely that I wanted to take photos of it! Teal is a well... Teal. A beautiful teal with shimmer. The texture of this eyeliner really shocked me, with how soft it was. It was like I ran my eyeliner brush through soft butter.

The pigmentation isn't the best, but it's not the worst either. It takes two swatches of the eyeliner to get the colour that I wanted, not bad, but I'm so used to using eyeliners that are one-swatch-wonders that it was a little frustrating.

It smudges a bit at first, and once it sets, it's harder to rub off.

It's not my holy grail eyeliner, by any means. It wears down over the day, if you rub at it it'll smudge away, and the colour isn't something you can wear with any outfit and get away with it.

I think it's a little worse for wear, since my eyelids can get quite oily. I can definitely see someone with dryer eyelids pulling this off for sure.

Do I hate it? Of course not! Aside from its flaws, I really enjoy it. Do I love it? No, but it doesn't disappoint me either.

If I had to say, I might not suggest this. If you can find it for cheap, like at a 5 Below, then jump on it. It's not bad to have in your collection at all. However, if you need to go out looking for it, perhaps think of getting another eyeliner that will work better for you.

Happy Halloween~

Hello again readers!

It's that time of year again, the time where all the witches and goblins, ghouls and ghosts, demons and monsters walk around... Or maybe it's just kids dressing up?

Halloween is my favourite holiday, hands down. It gives you the freedom to dress super creepy, or ridiculous without anyone giving you trouble, you get free candy (unless you're an adult, then you buy your own, but hey, wait till after Halloween and you get Halloween candy for cheap!), you get to see all of the children trick-or-treating and having a good time, and there's always scary movie marathons on the telly!

This year was pretty awesome, because not only did I get two of my projects done (one complete, one line work finished) for Tuesday, but during my lecture, my professor told us that he was pushing our exam back a week! I don't have to study this weekend!

This year, I was pleased to actually have more artistic freedom with my look. I've been a zombie for the past three years, giving me a reason to improve my technique. This is the first year I've had liquid latex. I've come a long way from some liquid liner and eye shadow.

This was last year....

And this, this was this year:

I'm pretty pleased with how it all came out! I don't have much practice with liquid latex, since I've only used it once before, but I liked it enough. Next time I try, I'll have to learn to blend better and take more time too.

In total, it took 2 and a half hours to do everything; hair, prosthetics, and makeup. It was so worth the time I invested into it, and I got a lot of compliments! I grossed some people out too, which is an added bonus.

I did pass out when I got home though, it was raining all day, and I was cold, wet, and exhausted. :( I missed out on things I wanted to do, but my day was still pretty fantastic... Such a shame that it's almost over... (One hour :( )

I can't wait till tomorrow, I'm going to start up my Top 5's posts again, go clearance shopping for Halloween goodies, and clean up my studio. I'll post a picture of my nails that I had today, since I have to wait for my camera to charge. I have another free weekend, so I'm going to take advantage!

Edit:

This is how I painted my nails.  I used Funky Fingers in Teal Scales, and then put Sinful Colors Sinful Shine in Mirror Mirror. I wanted it to look like clotted blood. Not the best, but I loved how it turned out!

Who would have thought that I'd be looking forward to cleaning and organizing... Oh dear.

How was your Halloween? Did you dress up? Go to parties? Give out candy?

NYX Butter Gloss - Vanilla

Hello again readers!

I have such a love for these glosses! I have other colours, I just haven't had the time to take photos of them (or any time to do much of anything, really).

Vanilla Cream Pie is a nice, warm pink colour that adds a nice bit of colour to the lips. It's not drying, it doesn't get all over the place, and the gloss itself is inexpensive at five dollars.

The only issue I really have with these glosses, is that it does transfer, and it feels a little sticky.

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick - 24 Carrot Gold

Hello again readers!

Wow! What a colour right? 24 Carrot Gold is a bright orange with peach tones to it. Definitely not for the feint of heart! It's a harsh colour, that actually looks good on. However, it does make my teeth look really yellow.

I look over that, because I really love this lipstick. It's creamy, opaque, and like all the other Megalast lipsticks, you can't beat the price! I just keep falling in love with these lipsticks every time I get a new one.. or two...

Too Spoopy?

Hello again readers!

It's that time of year again, Halloween! It's my favourite time of year, because I can get really cool stuff for my room and my future house. Never too early to start collecting.  Mum took me out to a few shops for a spoil day.

I got some liquid latex and nose putty for this years costume. Last year, I made my prosthetics with Elmer's glue and some toilet paper. They weren't the best, and I hope I can one-up myself again this year! Gotta start practicing, it's only 11 days away!

I also got these really cute block decorations for my room.  I was just going to get the Boo!, but mum let me get the Spooky too. I can't remember the name of the shop though...

I bought me some Washi tape at Michael's too. I couldn't decide between them, so I just bought them all! I'm not wild about the spiders though...

Got these at Target! The shot glasses are little plastic skulls, and the black and white skulls are salt and pepper shakers!

Mum also found this hat for me. I wanted to get a nice witch hat this year, so I can wear it all year round. This is black, already had mesh on it, and it was only three dollars at Target! It fits perfectly, and I'm already in love. I have to watch out for that pesky wind though. :)

When we got home, mum had another surprise for me. This really awesome skull ring. It looks so awesome on, and I'm a little upset that I have to be working with clay for the next couple of weeks... :( Boo. I'll wear it anyway, and then watch it like a hawk so I don't lose it.

Now for a few not-so-spooky purchases:

These 'books' have been on my watchlist since I saw them in August. I wanted to wait until they were on sale, and they were on sale today! I got three of them, and I can't wait to see what I'll be storing in them. (Maybe extra makeup brushes or palettes).

At Target, I found this really unique phone charging station. It's a dual jewelry box with a spot to put rings and your phone. I keep my rings in my bat and my little blue egg holder, but I might find a couple that I can display. Maybe I'll put trinkets there instead, or notes.

Lastly, I didn't want to leave these out. I technically got these booties at Payless yesterday before I attended a wedding reception, and I'm already in love with them. I tried them on, and they fit me like a glove! I wore them all night long, and didn't take them off to dance. I can move great with them on, they look fantastic, and suit me too.

Wet n Wild Blush - Pearlescent Pink

Hello again readers!

Missed my Friday deadline, so here are some Saturday Swatches instead.

Pearlescent Pink

Pearlescent Pink is a soft, warm pink with gold shimmer in it. I picked it up at Walgreens one day, and was mega impressed!

I got home, opened it up, and swiped my finger over the powder, and wow! It's pigmented, and the shimmer isn't distracting at all, it just adds a nice glow to the blush.

The brush that comes with this is pretty rubbish, and I'm pretty sure I already lost it somewhere, and I don't feel bad about it. I don't ever apply this blush with the accompanying brush anyway..

The blush itself is smooth, but the fallout is insane. Even the slightest amount of pressure causes fallout, which is a little frustrating. It's nothing  major, since the blush is cheap, but that's still more blush that is potentially being blown away.

As for being applied on the cheeks... careful with this one! It's not that it doesn't have colour payoff, it's that it has too much! If you're not careful, you'll end up applying way too much and have to go over it with a powder foundation to neutralize it. Just a little bit goes a long way, and it's easier to build up the colour you want than to get frustrated and apply more powder to take away the colour.

For $2.99, it's a blush that I don't mind the fallout at all, since the colour payoff is so great.
