January Favorites

Hello again readers!

Has anyone else felt like January was just such a crazy month? I mean dang, it was only 31 days and I feel exhausted. So much has happened! I started a class on Coding, which is just such a strange change for me because I generally have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm also succeeding. It's a very weird fit. I hope to keep up the effort I'm putting into it, and hopefully I'll pass the class and go on my way to get a job in the field. It's frustrating, but it's really rewarding when I write code that works.

I had my first meeting of the committee for the haunted house I worked at. It was scary, but we managed to get a good start. I hope that in time the meetings will really help make the haunt better and better as time goes on. I want only the best!

Also, I have managed to get in a relationship which is just ... really surreal. I don't want to gush too much about him (sorry to all my friends that have to listen to my word vomit), but he's really great.

So, without further adieu, onto what we're really here for: the favorite picks for January!

Shiro Cosmetics – White Chocolate Frog Highlighter:
I have been reaching for this highlighter at least once a week since I've gotten it. It's such a beautiful highlight that really catches the light, but it doesn't have a lot of glitter in it. It leaves a nice sheen on my cheekbones and blends in with almost no effort. They really outdid themselves with this product.

Blackbird Cosmetics Sculpting Powder – Subtract:
To be honest, I haven't reached for many other contour powders aside from this one. MAYBE once or twice this entire month. It's a beautiful cool-toned grey that needs just a tiny amount to sculpt out my cheekbones. A really easy to use product, though it's really easy to go overboard. I'm really pleased with it.

Milani Baked Blush – Luminoso:
I don't know what got over me, but on the days I wore very little makeup, I always reached for this particular blush. Just a no-nonsense two-in-one product that gives me color to my face, and a subtle highlight.

ELF Lip Kiss Balm – Bare Kiss:
January has been really hectic on my lips. They were always so dry no matter what I did (I need to get back into my skincare/lip care regimen ...) and so to solve so many issues I have been using tinted lip balms so I can get color, but also the moisture I've been desperately needing. These are new to ELF's range but dang they're fantastic. They come in a range of colors, and there's going to be something that'll suit everyone. I'm just not a huge fan of the peppermint flavor.

Bath and Body Works Forever Red Perfume:
I have been reaching for this like crazy this month. It smells so good, and lasts all day on me. It's probably my new favorite perfume (RIP Aeropostale's Promise Me) and I can just spray some on and not worry about it fading.

Sephora Lustre Matte – Fig Lustre:
This is such a great product. It dries down pretty matte (think like the Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks, where there's still a bit of sheen) and feels SO comfortable on the lips. I wish I liked more colors from the range because this product is great!

NYX Tea Tree Balance Skin Elixer:
I have been using this non-stop all month. I didn't think it'd do much, but it's perfect for putting under foundation, especially if that foundation you want to use doesn't have any acne fighting ingredients.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lippie – Beeper:
It's a fan fave for a reason, it's just so good! I love this product, it's so easy to apply and lasts all day. Such a gorgeous color too.

MakeUp Revolution – I Heart Chocolate Palette and the New-Trals vs Neutrals Palettes:
I don't want to go too in depth with these, because I have a full review of them coming soon, but I love these palettes. My friend from London sent them over and I've been reaching for them constantly. So versatile!
