Covergirl Lip Perfection - Embrace

Hello again readers~

I have a lipstick for you, and well, strap yourselves in. This is going to be an adventure.

Another item I snagged durring the CVS clearance sale was this lipstick: Covergirl Lip Perfection in Embrace.

It was usually about 8 dollars, but I bought it for four.

I was really entranced by the dark violet colour of the 'swatch' on the tube.

When I went to photograph it, it always leaned too warm! It's actually much darker, like:

From Google Image Search

And since it retails for 8 dollars, I thought I'd get a great lipstick.

Wrong.

This is after multiple swipes. It goes on so sheer, and it has a huge issue with randomly depositing chunks of product here or there, even if lips are fully moisturized. It's incredibly frustrating.

It's however, really creamy so it has that going for it, but nothing will redeem the smell of this. It reeks of chemicals, that try too hard to smell like cake and perfume. It's not pleasant, and it just makes me feel squeemish

Also, the product felt drying on my lips! You would think with something so creamy, it'd be more moisturizing. It wasn't.

There are only two things I love about this: the packaging, and the stain.

The packaging is sleek, a purple-toned silver. It looks really fantastic, and a flash of shine to really catch your eye. Easy to find in your purse.

The stain of this, is the only  way I'll get through the tube. The lipstick is disgusting, and I hate it, but the stain is a bright fuchsia pink. The stain wears off oddly, but it lasts most of the day, so I wouldn't mind applying this just to wipe it off for the stain.

Was it worth 8 dollars? I don't think so, but that's my opinion.

Milani Color Statement Lipsticks

Hello again readers!

As you've seen before, I went a little crazy with my Milani Lipstick Purchases. I was really excited to try out new lipsticks, and this was the first time I've ever tried a lipstick from Milani.

I wasn't sure what to expect, so the first time around, I only picked up four, then went back for the other four that I chose!

From Left to Right: Sangria, Uptown Mauve, Flirty Fuchsia, Best Red, Hot Pink Rage, Fruit Punch, Nude Creme
And after the photo was taken, I realized I forgot one:

Rose Hip

Sangria: A beautiful red-violet berry shade. In the tube, it looks really intimidating and dark, but on the lips it goes on with a more red-tone. Also, this is a matte lipstick and it's pretty moisturizing. Best of both worlds! It goes on a little sheer, but you can build it up to be darker.
DUPE: Color dupe for Wet n Wild - Sugarplum Fairy

Uptown Mauve: A beautiful (in both shade and formula) berry. When I think of mauve, I think of a darker shade, but this was surprisingly pink on the lips, and one of my favourites that I purchased! It's definitely flattering, and looks gorgeous.

Flirty Fuchsia: A berry pink with a phenomenal shine. It's a little light, but it wears wonderfully. Absolutely amazing.

Best Red: A cool-toned red matte. Really, not much to say about this, because it's a classic. I may not reach for it as often as say, Chaos, but I'll definitely reach for it over it's dupe...
DUPE: Color Dupe for L'Oreal La'laque

Hot Pink Rage: A warm toned bright pink matte. True to the color of the tube, and it goes on great!

Fruit Punch: A warm-toned pink cream. Not sure how much I like this one, when I see it in the tube, I always go 'meh', but when I apply it, I like it. It's a little brighter than I'm used to, but sometimes you need that extra pop.

Nude Creme: A perfect nude lip color, a great pink-toned nude. Truly, this was the shade that started my new nude/nude pink lip color obsession! I used to be all about reds and dark, vamp-y shades, and now I can't get enough!

Rose Hip: A cool-toned bright pink. I actually love this more than I thought (I am partial to cooler toned products) but this is just WOW. Really eye-catching.

They all are decently priced at about 5 dollars a piece, and with sales, they're even cheaper! They are all so creamy and moisturizing, and they don't bother me throughout the day with how they wear on the lips.

Even better, even the mattes are moisturizing on the lips, not drying like my all-time favourite mattes, Wet n Wild Megalast.

I was really impressed with these, and I really liked all of them! I can see an occasion for each of these, and they're so easy to just wear and walk out the door. Another thing I like about these, is even though they are so creamy, they are really easy to apply directly to your lips, without a lot of error. Which really, makes it easier to apply since you don't need to carry a brush along with you.

The only downside that some people may have, is that they all smell like watermelon candy. Like Jolly Ranchers. I love how they smell, but some might not be too keen on them.

Really, for around five dollars, with fantastic wear? I couldn't recommend these enough! Even if some are dupes of shades I already own.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Bad to the Bronze

Hello again readers!

I'm slowly adding new color tattoos to my ever-growing color tattoo collection! I eventually want all (or well, most) of them, since not only are they fabulous stand-alone cream eyeshadows, but they're wonderful bases, for other shades, or for full looks! I can never rant too much about these, and today I have another gorgeous neutral for you!

Bad to the Bronze

Bad to the Bronze is beautiful bronze, that packs a punch! The pigmentation is great, it blends out easily for looks, and it can also be a stand-alone shadow. I'm so in love!

To think, there was a time where I would look at this and pass this up, but now it adds a good edge to a basic, neutral smokey eye. A must have if you love neutral shades and shimmers, and especially if you love long-lasting eye products!

Wet n Wild - Knock on Wood

Hello again readers!

I like the pigmentation of these shadows. You get a nice nude pink, a reddish-brown, and a nice burnt pink shade. All shimmers.

These go on so buttery smooth, and they definitely don't disappoint in their color payoff!

The only downside of this palette? It's being discontinued! If you like pink-toned shadows, or heck, even if you're just a fan of Wet n Wild, pick this up for yourself!

Jordana Twist and Shine - Honey Love

Hello again readers!

I've been really intrigued with these Twist and Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains from Jordana, and Rock N Rouge kicked Candid Coral out of the water! I've been wanting to try another one (or maybe two!), and I didn't know where to start. I was watching one of Leighann's videos, and she mentioned how much she was loving Honey Love. I went out to try it since I wanted another one to try.

I tried it on and was pretty pleased with it. I loved the swatch, and swatching it on my lips was great. To me, it's not a nude at all, especially with my skin tone. On me, it's like a darker version of a nude lip, and it's right up my alley! It's perfect for winter, since it moisturizes along with giving me lasting colour.

It's cheap, smooth, pigmented, and lasts for a long while. What's not to love? I'm now eyeing Cranberry Crush and Terra Crave, the other shades are too bright for my liking. Even worse, Candid Coral was too bright for me too, and even with the stain I wasn't wowed. I'm sticking to the darker shades for t his collection.
