December's Top 5

Hello again readers, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!~

I was really hoping to get this done before 2012, but since I only had two minutes, and I had to get downstairs, I had no time.

DECEMBER'S TOP 5:

1.) Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer: This is great for winter. Not only does it leave my skin feeling soft, it helps with acne, works as a primer, and mixed with foundation, creates a beautiful alabaster tone. So many uses in this one product.

2.) Essie Nail Polish in Shine of the Times: I love this nail polish! It's my first flakie, and looks amazing over single tone nail polishes (especially black!). Absolutely gorgeous, and like fire on my nails.

3.) Wet n Wild I Matte Palette: I didn't love this at first, but it really did grow on me. I can do anything from a smokey eye, to simply highlighting my eyebrow bone, and a bit of wild makeup looks too. It really has grown on me.

4.) Softlips Chap Stick in Cucumber: Also a must have for winter, especially since I'm one that bites her lips. It helps lips feel so soft, and supple, and juicy. It smells soft, and works well.

5.) Skin Milk Body Lotion: And finally, the final must have. The soft vanilla scent is wonderful, and not too overwhelming. It leaves skin feeling so incredibly soft and silky.

Aussie Hair Product Reviews

Hello again readers~

Today I'm reviewing four Aussie products that I have been using.

  • Aussome Volume Gel Spray
  • Catch the Wave Mousse
  • Hi Hold + Hi Shine Hair Spray
  • 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner
I generally like Aussie products because they smell amazing, and they aren't that expensive at all, though I thought I would review them so you can see what I really think about the products I own.
Hi Hold + Hi Shine Hair Spray

PROS:

  • Holds hairstyle in place all day
  • Holds even in humidity (but not in rain!)
CONS:
  • If too much product is put in one place, it can become crunchy
  • It's easy to go overboard since the product comes out so smoothly
OVERALL: 4/5

I don't like when it ends up getting crusty, but for keeping hair in place all day, it works wonders.

Aussome Volume Gel Spray

PROS:

  • It gives me the right amount of volume so my hair doesn't fall flat

CONS:

  • Since it is a gel, you have to be really careful since it's sticky when it's wet

OVERALL: 3/5

I do like this product, my hair has a lot of volume farther down, but not around the roots. This product gives my hair the right amount of volume so it's easier to create an edgy look. I do not like how sticky this can be though, which reflects my rating.

Catch the Wave Mousse

PROS:
  • Instant gratification. Run it through damp hair, and you can instantly see the piecy affect
  • Makes hair look wavy, as if you just walked out of the beach.

CONS:
  • It does make hair a bit crunchy, but is easily dealt with if you blow dry it, or if you simply run fingers through your hair

OVERALL: 4/5

I love this! My hair is wavy on it's own, but the waves always end up uneven. With this, I can control how my waves look, and it just makes my natural waves look even better. All you have to do is put it in your hair, style it like scrunching hair in your palms, and it looks amazing.

3 Minute Miracle Conditioner

PROS:
  • It's easy to use, just put enough conditioner to cover your hair, like regular conditioner and leave it in
  • Leaves hair smelling great, soft, luxurious, and really healthy
  • Also gives hair a shine
  • The effects last for a long while (my hair is still soft and it has been two weeks!)
  • Perfect for those who use hair dryers, curling irons, curlers, or straightening irons constantly.
CONS:
  • None!
OVERALL: 5/5

This product did exactly what it claimed to do, and it really is a 'miracle'. This lasts a long time, and for the price, it's amazing. It's a must have for me, since I straighten my hair often.

November's Top 5

Hello again readers~

It's that time of the month again: November's Top 5!

November's Top 5:

1.) Mint Teddy Bear Sweater:
I got it from my grandmother and I love it! It fits, it's cute, it's one of my favorite colors, and it just looks so cute on! It's something that I'm going to be wearing often in the winter.

2.) Jordana's Eyeliner in Black: An eyeliner I always go back to. Goes on smooth, it's soft to apply, makes smudged looks amazing, and a great go-to for tight-lining!

3.) Love and Beauty Lipstick in Coral Pink: Perfect for my skin tone. Not too dark, and not frosty either. Compliments it well.

4.) Little Twin Stars Charm: I got this when I went shopping with Anita last, and she has the pink one. Makes me really happy when I see it ,or hear the bell jingle, because I instantly think of her.

5.) Wet n Wild Baked Eyeshadow Palettes: I know I have said this before, but I love baked eyeshadows! They are amazingly pigmented, go on amazingly, last all day, look beautiful, and last in the pan for a really long time!

Christmas at Silver Dollar City~

Hello again readers~

When we went to Branson, it was really nice. We went straight to Silver Dollar City, and it was raining! It was so cold, I was wearing my two jackets, plus my heavy coat! It was really miserable. :( We went to see 'A Christmas Carol' at the Opera House theater in the park, and it was lucky timing, because as soon as we got out, we were dried off, and it wasn't raining anymore! It was still really cold though, and of course the rest of the night went wonderfully so fun times were had!

This was taken after we got out, while we were waiting for the Christmas parade. It was an 'accident shot' but those are always my favorites.

Then we have Sarah kissing on another figure! Always a new one every time we come down, it's really funny. :)

And then me posing, because this reindeer was just FABULOUS~

We went afterwards to do our tradition of icing cookies! These cookies though are SO sugar packed, that I can usually only eat one, and Sarah takes a bite out of hers and never eats the rest. I end up eating both of them myself. ^^;;

Sarah put green icing on my nose! Haha She was nice enough to wipe it off for me since I couldn't get it all myself.

The tree that stands closes to the entrance of the park! It's so tall, and it changes colors! The only thing I regret about this trip, is that it was too cold for iced beverages, and that we weren't able to see the light show for the tree. :(

And a few of the trees that were decorated for the Christmas season in the park~

Gets, and reviews

Hello again readers~

It was a crazy past couple of days! Thursday night, Akira ate! Though, he REFUSES to eat the fish flakes (his usual diet) and will only eat the beta pellets, so that was easy...

Though today he's been doing well. He's been eating regularly, and has been responding to my voice again, and has been swimming! Just yesterday, he barely got off the pebbles on the bottom, and today he's swimming all over the place. It's a wonderful change. :)

REVIEWS

Wet n Wild Baked Palettes in: Baked, Not Fried, Bake-Off Contest, and Baking a Cake, and Wet n Wild I ♥ Matte palette.Ohhhh it flipped my photo to the right! But here are the swatches of Baked, Not Fried and the accompanying eyeliner! I was pleased, since this a great shimmer palette in neutral tones. Applied in pairs, top is dry, bottom is wet.

Swatches of Bake-Off Contest and the accompanying eyeliner. Each is sectioned into pairs, the top is applied dry, and bottom is applied wet.
Swatches of Baking a Cake and the accompanying eyeliner. Applied in pairs, top is dry, bottom is wet.

Now for the review!

I love how when applied wet, the pigmentation is just glamorous and incredibly amazing, even without the use of a primer. The eyeshadows are silky, and glide on smoothly.

Pros:
  • Baked, so can be applied easy wet, or dry
  • Looks AMAZING applied wet
  • Affordable (5 dollars for 6 colors)
  • The eyeliners suit the palettes well

Cons:
  • The palette lids aren't attached to the palette, so it takes some effort to open and close the palette.
  • The palettes don't come with brushes, or makeup sponges.
Overall:
4/5! I love the colors, I love the palettes, though the lids and the lack of brush/sponges is a hassle, they are still so great. Made up my mind that baked palettes are my favorite.

Swatches of I ♥ Matte. Left dry, right wet.

I did like this palatte, though the black was a let-down. I was hoping for a more carbon black, and it's more of a really dark brown-black shade. The blue, violet, and the neutral colors blew me a way, and the green is also sort of a let down as well.

Pros:
  • When applied wet, is really pigmented
  • Many shades to choose from
  • Easy to obtain
  • Cheap (5 dollars)

Cons:
  • It says 'matte' but some of the shades have a slight shimmer to them, so it's not a true matte.
  • The black color is a let down.
  • The white is really chalky.

Overall:

4/5. This is a good pallete for the money I spent on it, and it is very versatile!

Today was pretty relaxing, though I did a lot. My parents took my sister and I to the mall, and to lunch~

First off: The mall~

Got these sweaters are Rue 21 for $7 each! They are perfect for me, and go all the way to my bum, so it's the style that I like, and colors I like too!

I kept trying to tell myself to stay away from printed T's, but who am I kidding? While at J C Penny's, I got a 'vintage' Batman shirt, a Pikachu shirt, and a Disturbed shirt!

And at Hot Topic, I got the "Welcome to Boo-tiful Newark, NJ" 10th anniversary t-shirt, THAT GLOWS IN THE DARK! You heard me right, it glows in the dark, and is something that I wanted since it was released, and my mother gave me the okay, so while she was buying Cardinal shirts with my sister, my father and I went to get it. I love it, so so so so so much!

After the mall, we went to Frankie G's for lunch! It was so delicious, though I was so hungry, that I forgot to take a picture! (^^;;) I got a sample platter, so I had mini tacos, toasted ravioli, and chicken strips, and had a potato skin and dad gave me a bunch of his fries, and I munched on the chicken wings that were at the table too! It was glorious! Next time I am getting mini-tacos and ravioli for sure!

Then we went to Sally Beauty. I was just going to get two nail polishes, but since my mother wanted a wallet that came free if you bought 3 Finger Paints colors, and Sarah needed me to pick 2 to make that happen, I picked a couple I wanted, and even found an alternative for a polish I wanted!

China Glaze in First Mate, Finger Paints in Where Art Renoir?, Finger Paints in Tiffany Imposter, and Orly in Androgynie, and Sally Girl Baked Eyeshadows in violet and gunmetal.

Close-ups for Orly Androgynie, and for Finger Paints in Where Art Renoir?.

Swatches of violet (left), and gunmetal (right). Dry, sliced, and applied wet.

REVIEWS

Tiffany Imposter: A nice polish that applies nicely, needs two coats to apply evenly.

First Mate: A thick polish that was a little hard to work with. Needs two coats for even application.

Where Art Renoir?: A brilliant polish, that glides on easy. Can be applied in two coats, put two on the swatcher for good measure.

Androgynie: Goes on sheer, definitely needs at least two coats for an opaque application, I suggest three.

October's Top 5's!

Hello again readers~

It's the beginning of November, and that means: OCTOBER'S TOP 5's!

October's Top 5
  1. Biore Blemish fighting Ice Cleanser: I have raved about it so many times, and here I go again: THIS IS MY FAVORITE FACE WASH EVER TO EXIST! You can FEEL it working into your pores and cleaning, and it leaves your skin smooth, soft, and gives it a healthy glow.
2. Hot Topic Blue Nail Polish: A bold pigmented blue creme. It just looks gorgeous!

3. E.L.F. Angled Eyeliner Brush: This made it on my favorites for the second month in a row. I use it almost everyday, and the lines are thin and precise.

4. Aziza Liquid Foundation in Buff Beige: A foundation that is basically made for me! It's a smidge darker than I am, but it's barely noticeable at all! It doesn't have an awful smell, and it doesn't clump up during the day. Great purchase for it only being a dollar.

5. Super Shine Naturalistics in Periwinkle Pearl: A dark blue polish with violet shimmer. Just a wonderful color that's not as dark as black, but goes to the 'dark side' of the nail polish spectrum.

Halloween, Gets, and ZOMBIES.

Hello again readers~

Gosh it's been a while... sorry about that. I have been busy this week with school work. Wrote papers Tuesday, and all day Wednesday I was volunteering with the FEA (Future Educators of America) which I am now a member of (shocking to me too! :D). So in the course of two weeks, I joined two academic club/society/things. This year is going well!

I offered to make posters for the Octo-boo Fest, and this is one of them that I made with an incredibly lame name, but hey, it was designed for children! Everyone there found it sort of ironic and funny that it said "Caution: May STAIN clothes!" and then the sign that was put on the machine itself "DO NOT USE" made it seem like we put it there. We thought to move it, but we didn't because it was silly.

I dressed as a zombie! I didn't have liquid latex, or coagulated blood gel like I wanted to use, so I just used eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lip gloss to make it look all bloody and what not. Looked really gross... even worse at the end of the night:

Some of the makeup got rubbed off, so it make the 'gash' on my arm look like I got a really NASTY bruise, and the 'gash' on my chest look like it was an infected, open wound... it was gross haha and took about 10 minutes to get off with makeup remover before my shower.

Random side photo, I got this sticker of an owl while I was there, and put it on my E.L.F. Complexion Perfection powder case. It's so cute just smiling at me.

THIS THIS THIS. I know it wasn't on clearance, but I didn't care, I NEEDED this in my life. Introducing, my first MCR shirt. AIM FOR THE FACE! I love it so much and splurged on myself and used up my gift card to get this. It was WORTH it. I quickly left the store after purchasing, went to the bathroom, and changed into it! Wore it for the rest of the day.

And then went to Slackers. Found The Used: Lies for the Liars CD/DVD box set, and It was only 8 dollars! It has almost no damage, except the book on the inside got knocked loose but it will be easily fixed with a bit of glue.

September's Top 5

Hello again readers~

It's October first, that means: SEPTEMBER'S TOP FIVE!! :D

SEPTEMBER'S TOP 5:

1. Shoulder-cut fashion top: I absolutely love this top. So so so so so much. I got it from my best friend Anita from Rue 21, and it's just so cute, soft, comfortable, and flattering! She knows me WAY too well.

2. Fashion Necklace: This is my new favorite necklace. I bought it at Forever 21, it goes with everything, and adds a nice edge to any outfit. I'm glad I picked this one up when I did, because it's just so beautiful, and my mother approves!

3. Hard Candy Matte Top Coat: I was lusting after this nail polish, I bought it, and I love it. It's gorgeous, and dries pretty quickly, and gives nail polishes a whole new look!

4. E.L.F. Angled Eyeliner Brush: This is my favorite eyeliner brush for everyday looks. I still love my Maybelline brush, but this one is just so much better for those thin lines, and is so much more precise.

5. Domo Pencil Case: Keeps my pens, markers, lead refills, erasers, blending stick, comb, and ruler all in the same place. Has two compartments, so it's more organized. It's just perfect for me!

OOTD, FOTF, and Nuggets?

Hello again readers~

Today, was quite an exciting day... I finally gave my speech for my speech class, and I was SO nervous!! I was talking, and shaking, and had to pause at least twice to catch my breath and calm down. Oh... I hope she doesn't count me down too much since it was my first speech...

Between the classes, I was with my friends Arik and Emily, and Arik was helping me with my computer, then about 10:30 we all wanted McDonalds, but didn't leave till 10:45... my class starts at 11:00. Haha. We ordered, they messed it up, took FOREVER. I had five minutes, to scarf as many fries as I could, and get to class. I only managed 1/4 of my fries... so that's all I ate of those, but I ate my nuggets in class.

Luckily, since i managed to answer every question perfectly, and figured out three formulas off the top of my head to make the questions easier to solve, he didn't really care much. That, and I wasn't being disruptive. Just when he was talking I didn't reach for a nugget, and when he was writing I ate some. Haha. It was really awesome~ I am really obsessed with those nuggets....

Enough about my day, have outfit/makeup post~

I LOVE this top. I mean really love it. Anita is so great for buying it for meeeeeee. Also, my sister was really sweet to me, and braided my hair~ So it was all cute and wavy today. Apologies for the background, the corner is my stash of food stuffs/trash, and the other is all of the clothes from my closet organized in baskets... embarrassing...

I really do love this makeup look~ I got inspired from Zhi Zhi at Sweetheart <3 Fashion, so decided to try it myself, and I LOVED it.

August's Top 5

Hello again readers~

It's that time of the month (no, not THAT time of the month), August's Top 5!

AUGUST'S TOP 5:
  1. Sassy Legs Hair Remover Pads: These actually don't remove hair. At all. Haha, though, they do leave whatever areas you use them on, incredibly soft. Now, as I've posted before, I had dry, flaky skin on my brow bone. It was super gross, make me look aged, and my foundation made it look ever grosser! I tried using an emery board on it earlier this month, but it was too harsh, and since I was messing with these on my arm, I tried it on the dry skin. These might not be able to remove hair, but they're WONDERFUL at gently buffering away dead skin, and leaving silky, smooth-as-a-baby's-bottom, skin behind. Glad I gave these a second chance.
  2. Maybelline Falsies Mascara: This. Is. My. Favorite. Mascara. Ever. It doesn't really run on me, and unless I'm DYING of sweat, it doesn't leave a 'look at me I'm a raccoon!' effect under my eyes! They keep my lashes looking curled, and it makes them stand out too! It's wonderful, since I have straight, short eyelashes.
  3. Gold Mustache Necklace: Found this little beauty at Forever21 for about 6 dollars, and am SO glad I did. Definitely one of my 'hipster' pieces. I have gotten a few compliments on it, asked where I got it, etc. Unfortunately, the only way to get one is hope they still have it in stock in the store, since they don't sell it online. Similar ones like this, cost over 20! So be wary if you are looking for one!
  4. China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat: And THIS is my favorite top coat, of all time. I am so impatient, it's not even funny, but if you put this over a semi-dry layer, and wait a minute (really thirty seconds, but I wait extra just because) they feel dry to the touch (with your skin, not your nails)! Though I wouldn't advise doing something rough to your nails, you can go about your day like showering, typing, writing, etc and not have to worry about your nails messing up. I just love it~
  5. Witch Hazel: I wasn't really that happy with this... at first. XD I got it, because I heard it was a good cleanser/toner, and it was cheap! (about 2 dollars!) I usually used a Sea Breeze astringent, but the bottle is smaller than this, and costs over 4 dollars! Though first using it, I hated it, because it's a natural scent, and I wasn't used to it, and it was a little gross smelling, but it did such a good job, I was willing to work with it a bit. I'm glad I did. It keeps my skin clean, gets rid of the excess dirt/makeup/gross unmentionables that might have been left on my face after washing it. As for the smell? Wears off in a few short minutes, so that's not even a huge concern anymore. It's perfect if you have normal to oily skin, as it helps you get rid of the excess oil.

First Day of School, OOTD, and NOTD post.

Hello again readers!

Today I started my second year of college! I was a little nervous to be going again, but I do love the professor I have on Mondays and Wednesdays (I had him last Spring), and it's going to be an interesting year! I didn't have a lot of time to get ready this morning (I woke up with only a half hour, and I spent half of that time on Facebook...) but luckily today was an easy day for my look.

Just my 'first day of school shirt' (have worn it on the first day every year since I was a Junior in High School), with my black skinny jeans, and converse. I tied my hair up and put a clip on it, because I wanted it simple, and didn't really feel like straightening it. (Also, I apologize for the background... I've been cleaning my room, and had to stop on a dime last night as to not bother everyone in my house. TAT)

For my face, was almost the bare minimum. Concealer for my dark circles, foundation to even my skin tone, eyeshadow cream, eyeliner, and mascara. If I only had 10 minutes I would've skipped on the eyeliner and eyeshadow.

Lazy day, lazy post. (^^;;) I'm going to wrap it up with my nail post!

Base coat, China Glaze in Turned up Turquoise (Neon), and China Glaze Fast Forward Fast-Dry Top Coat. I really do love this color, and couldn't stop looking at it! @.@

July's Top 5

Hello again readers~

So July is officially over! (TAT) Now I only have a few more weeks until classes start again. Oh well, I'll just have to make the best of it yeah? Onto what this post is REALLY about.

(sorry, blogger flipped my photo -_-)

JULY'S TOP 5

1.) E.L.F Zit Zapper: I've used this product over a hundred times, and I've barely made a dent! It helps get rid of those pesky zits that I want gone fast too! It was WELL worth the dollar I spent on it!

2.) "Hipster" Glasses: I definitely want a sturdier pair of these to wear as my prescription glasses, and will probably wear these even if I move on to contacts! I just like the way they look on me.

3.) False Eyelashes No. 102: Natural, and they make me look like I actually have eyelashes. What's not to love?

4.) Clean & Clear Finishes Mattifying Cleanser: I. LOVE. THIS. PRODUCT. I don't really like my face, since I get super oily in my T-Zone throughout the day, but if I wash my face with this in the morning, it doesn't get nearly as bad! It keeps me looking fresh and matte all day. Exception is if I sweat really really bad haha.

5.) Wet n' Wild Mega Last Lip Color in 900B Pink Sugar: I was so happy when I found this lipstick. I've been looking for a nice nude lipstick, and this is just perfect for me!

Makes my lips go from this:
